Independent Living

Independent living communities are a wonderful option for seniors who are able to perform their own basic ADLs (activities of daily living). They are designed to help older adults maintain their independence. The focus for seniors desiring independent living is often lifestyle, security and peace of mind. Amenities are usually an important part of their decision making process and the need for security often motivates a move to independent living. The suites vary in size from studios to two bedroom apartments.
Assisted Living

Assisted living is often viewed as the best of both worlds. Residents have as much independence as they want with the knowledge that personal care and support services are available if they need them. These communities are designed to provide residents with assistance with basic ADLs (activities of daily living) such as showering, grooming, dressing, toileting, medication management and more. Assisted living communities do not offer complex medical services. The suites vary in size from studios to two bedroom apartments.
Memory Care

Memory care communities provide a safe and secure place with professional staff that is trained to care for those with Alzheimer’s or other dementias. They offer assistance that fosters residents’ individual skills and interests in an environment that helps to diminish confusion and agitation. Specialty services are provided, such as activity programs designed to include reality orientation classes and specially trained professional staff skilled in handling the behaviors associated with memory impairments.
Memory care communities can be located as a wing of an assisted living community or a stand alone building solely dedicated to providing memory care services. Private and semi-private suites are available in memory care communities.
Respite Care

Some assisted living and memory care communities have studio apartments furnished and ready for short-term respite care. Short-term respite stays are typically one to two weeks and provide a temporary break for caregivers while their loved one is well cared for. The temporary resident will receive all of the services of the community for a pro-rated fee.
